Outlander season 3: Stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan appear at Vanity Fair Oscar

For those of you wondering if there was a Caitriona Balfe Vanity Fair Oscar Party appearance last night, we’re pleased to tell you that the answer is a simple “yes.” Not only that, but her Outlander co-star Sam Heughan was there, as well. The noteworthy bash is one of the biggest ones surrounding the Academy Awards, and the two actors had a chance to show off their glam side and spend some time alongside some of the other biggest stars in TV and film.

We tend to be overly cautious when it comes to posting red-carpet images for reasons due to usage / rights, but suffice it to say that Balfe and Heughan have Oscar style down pat. Maybe this is a precursor to if either one of them ever finds themselves nominated someday!

For the two, attending this party is a part of a brief highlight reel here in America for the two. We’ve already documented rather extensively the appearance by Balfe at the Oscar Wilde Awards last week, and the two have a big appearance coming up in a handful of days at Emerald City Comic-Con in Seattle. While we won’t be there in-person (regrettably, it’s a little far out of our neck of the woods), we hope to still bring you something from the event even if it’s just notable highlights from their panel from people on the scene.

What else lies ahead?

The big highlight on the calendar is of course filming in South Africa, which is going to take Caitriona and Sam to the other side of the world for many months. Hopefully, there will be some further updates posted and shared along the way. Filming for that show will run through early June, and hopefully the two will have a brief break then before the start of season 4 production. We know that the writers and producers aren’t getting too much of a break; we imagine that many people will even be working on the formative stages of season 4 while season 3 is wrapping up. This really is a year-long job, and one that has employees everywhere from Los Angeles to Scotland to Cape Town and beyond.
