‘Shadowhunters’ season 2: See Katherine McNamara, cast talk ‘Valentine’s Day’

The second season of “Shadowhunters” is airing a new episode on Monday night, but before that episode airs, how about a little bit of fun as a way to get into the Valentine’s Day spirit?

With that being said, we cannot actually say that the video below is really all about the holiday itself at all. Instead, it’s more about the character of Valentine Morgenstern as we see many of the different characters on the show create their own sort of Valentine’s Day “message” to this villainous character. It’s funny, and it’s somewhat similar to the “Thank You Notes” that Jimmy Fallon does on “The Tonight Show.” The difference here is that we’re getting them all towards a specific person from Katherine McNamara and the rest of the cast.

Given that season 2 has been by and large a fairly dark season of the show, we will say that it’s fun to get to see many of the actors in a more consistently comedic setting; it’s also a nice way to shake things up before we actually get to tonight’s episode coming on the air on Freeform.

What we know about it at the moment is that over the course of the hour, Clary and Luke are going to have to get on the same page regarding Cleo, while at the same time there will be a somewhat-romantic storyline pertaining to dating advice. There are going to be those lighter moments; it’s probably a little bit difficult to know for certain if these romantic notes were planned far in advanced with the advance knowledge of Valentine’s Day coming. That is especially the case when you remember for a second that this is a show that does like to feature these subplots here and there as a way to continue bringing different dimensions to the show and some of its characters.
