After a short hiatus, “Lethal Weapon” is returning to Fox tonight in order to kick off February sweeps! With that, some of the biggest stories of the season are going to be getting into high gear, especially given that there are only a short handful of them left. This includes next week’s new installment “As Good as it Getz,” which could be one of the cooler stories of the season for movie fans given that an iconic character in Leo Getz is going to be coming on board the show for the first time.
We feel like we’ve set up the arrival of this character fairly well in some past articles, so we’ll let the synopsis below speak somewhat to how he fits into the specific story for the episode, and also how Hilarie Burton’s character of Karen Palmer is also going to be worked further into the mix.
Synopsis – “Riggs and Murtaugh are forced to work with DEA agent Karen Palmer (guest star Hilarie Burton) again, to protect Leo Getz (guest star Thomas Lennon), an ambulance-chasing attorney who was linked to the Cartel. As the three delve further into the case, they begin to realize that Leo may not be the only one with a target on his back. In the meantime, Riggs begins to view Agent Palmer in a new light while Murtaugh is left worried after Trish makes a spontaneous decision.”
Given his importance in the films, it may be fair to assume that Getz is the sort of person who could show up on several different occasions throughout the series’ run. Potentially, maybe we see a bit of him here, and then he comes back and rears his head again in a few weeks if the show returns for a second season. Even if “The Odd Couple” returns for a fourth season, it’s fair still to presume that Lennon may still have enough time to make another appearance or two.
Promo – If the episode ends up being anything like what we see here, this is going to be fun. Also, we could have a great battle of the mustaches.
