‘The Flash’ season 3 spoilers: Why Iris is facing death?

Iris -On this past episode of “The Flash,” we saw a bold side to one Iris West that hadn’t been quite showcased in the form that it was before. After all, this was someone unafraid to get her hands dirty as she worked with Wally in order to crack a big case and stop some bad guys. They did great work! However, Iris opened herself up to harm infinitely more than she has to date.

Part of her problem now seems to be that she’s not taking the prophecy about Savitar as a sign for her to be careful. Instead, she’s looking at it as a way to further empower herself, and not be afraid to take on some of the other problems that she’s confronted with. She’s putting herself more in danger of dying, thinking that she is going to automatically make it to that showdown when that is not necessarily the case.

This brings us to the photo above from Tuesday night’s new episode “Untouchable,” one that does do a good job of making it clear just what sort of danger we could be seeing Candice Patton’s character in. What’s put her in such peril? More than likely, her medical crisis is coming as a direct result of the actions of Clive Yorkin, a meta-human who possesses the ability to cause people to rapidly decay as a result of his touch. This sounds somewhat similar to one of the escapees on “Gotham” earlier this season who had the ability to make people grow older — which proved problematic to many people who weren’t anywhere near as young as Ivy on the show.

Is there a way to reverse Yorkin’s effects? This is what the team has to figure out, but we’re feeling fairly optimistic at the moment. If nothing else, it’d feel like a massive letdown to get the warning from Savitar only for some other meta-human to take Iris out along the way.
