Adam Driver takes you behind the scenes of live Super Bowl commercial for Snickers

For the sake of this article in particular, though, we’re here to discuss Snickers and their attempts now to do something very different featuring none other than “Girls” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star Adam Driver. For the first time in history, Snickers is doing a commercial LIVE during the big game, which is a huge risk and offers up a chance to see something that is incredibly entertaining and unpredictable. It seems right that you hire Driver to do this in particular — he’s got an extensive background in live theater, and at the same time, he’s also done “Saturday Night Live” before. He should be comfortable in the environment of being in front of a camera, even if this is a very specific challenge given the sheer number of people who are going to be watching. This is potentially going to be the most-watched edition of the big game on record — though we say that almost every year.
Much of this video is a humorous little jaunt through some of the assorted nonsense that you could see, but we have a feeling that some of it may be low-budget just for the sake of throwing you off the scent. Also, Adam is constantly threatened throughout by the presence of off-screen lawyers, who threaten to come at him with hot fury if he does anything to threaten his non-disclosure agreement.
In all honesty, we’re probably about as excited for this as we are for the Super Bowl itself, which means there’s a good chance we’re going to bummed out when this ad comes and goes in about a minute’s time tomorrow. Hopefully, it’ll prove itself to be worthy of the hype.
