‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8, episode 14 review: More than one mole? Kensi looks death in the face

NCIS -The viewers of “NCIS: Los Angeles” on Sunday night definitely were on the edge of their seats for the entire 60 minutes of the program. As the team sorted out who was behind all the arrests and the mole was being flushed out, it became apparent the score to settle wasn’t just with one particular agent, but the entire group.

Leaving off from last week, the team members were still being detained as trumped up charges were debunked. The agents were released (or escaped just like Callen) as the group came back together. The one person who was missing? Henrietta “Hetty” Lange wasn’t anywhere to be seen. As the show unraveled, it was obvious to Agent Hanna and Agent Callen that the reason they were held by different government agencies was because it was staged by Lange. In fact, it appeared that by all accounts everything was calculated by Lange, down to the last detail of her agents being picked up and held at different locations.

Hetty seemed to draw out the mole, but in a surprise conclusion more than one man stepped forward. Several dirty agents showed their face and their allegiance to the other side. Never fear as Hetty had a plan to make sure she was safe, even though she went rogue, and to nail the people who put her job at risk. It was an amazing explosion that had fans screaming at the TV in shock.

One detail Hetty didn’t consider was Special Agent Kensi Blye. Expecting the agent not to get involved because she still wasn’t part of the team officially, Blye interjected herself and this caused problems. As viewers watched in horror, the special agent was kidnapped and the reason was beyond anyone’s imagination. Unfortunately, the man who pretended to be her friend in rehab was actually a CIA officer who got his leg blown off by Kensi. It wasn’t just business when it came to this situation, it was personal and the ending of the show had viewers freaking out as Kensi was looking at a saw that her kidnapper was ready to use to take her leg in an eye for an eye scenario. He could have decided to make it more than a leg, but viewers will need to wait until the next new episode to find out.

We enjoyed watching the “NCIS: Los Angeles” episode on Sunday night as the twists and turns were extremely shocking. Offering a continued look at how the team was compensating to keep Hetty from resigning and learning the truth about the dirty agents discovered, there wasn’t any doubt this was the best episode of 2017 so far. Now we must ask, will Agent Blye survive? Come February 19 when the show returns, we will find out for sure! Episode grade: A-.
