‘The Bachelor’ video: Houmas House takes center stage for spooky Nick Viall date

Nick -On Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelor,” we’re going to be taking off to New Orleans! We absolutely understand the appeal of the show wanting to go to the Big Easy, mostly because it brings so much charm and romance to the table.

As it turns out, it also happens to be the site of one of the more ridiculous group dates of the season, as Nick Viall takes many of his remaining women, including Raven Gates, Danielle Maltby, and others, to the famed Houmas House located in nearby Darrow. The tour of the place was introduced to the women as having a haunted-house sort of theme, and that is something that the show exploits like nobody’s business in the sneak peek below as you see sheets covering various busts in the house and also at one point a crashing chandelier.

One of the more interesting facets of the construction of this date is that Houmas House, while known for some of its ghosts, is actually also a site of many weddings and many other romantic tours. If you visit its website, you have to actually look in order to find some of the stuff about the ghosts. It’s not something that the place leads with right away.

Anyway, we’re sure that there will be moments of the group date that move past the scariness of it all and focus in on some romance. After all, there are many strong relationships on the show at this point, and this could be a fairly peaceful date. Just remember that Corinne Olympios and Taylor Nolan, a.k.a. the two women who hate each other, are not a part of the date. They’ll be on the two-on-one a little bit later, which may be the most uncomfortable that you’ve ever been watching people date a guy on this show. (Suffice it to say, producers love milking these dates like nobody’s business.)
