‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: Livewire and Metallo set to return

Livewire -Recently, we commented about how one of the things that “Supergirl” season 2 needed the most were appearances from some more meaningful villains, and we’re very much thrilled to see that this may be finally happening.

According to a report from TVLine, we are for certain going to be seeing more of Brit Morgan as Livewire over the course of the second season, and the same goes for Frederick Schmidt as Metallo. The former character has not been seen since the first season, when she and Silver Banshee teamed up to take part in the crossover between this show and “The Flash.” Meanwhile, Metallo was recently vanquished after a two-episode stint to start the season.

Of the two, we’d argue that Livewire is the more intriguing villain just because she actually had a developed story before she got powers, even if most of it generated around her hatred for Cat Grant who is not actually a part of the show right now. We want to think of her return being tied to potentially getting to see a little bit more Calista Flockhart moving forward, but there is not any confirmation that this is going to be happening.

If Metallo gets a chance to exist a little bit more on his own rather than being a branch for Project Cadmus, we do think that there is some room for improvement with him, as well. More than anything, what we really need to see with this show is a villain (as in a person, and not so much an organization) who is around for a solid chunk of the season and can actually give Supergirl a challenge, similar to how much someone like Prometheus has turned up to date on “Arrow.”

What do you think: Are these the right villains to return to “Supergirl”? Share some of your thoughts below, and head over here if you do want to read some more news regarding how to build the best villain possible for the show. (Photo: The CW.)
