‘Chicago PD’ season 4 spoilers: The battle against fake police
Unfortunately, matters are only going to be getting worse for the officers at the center of “Chicago PD” — after all, they are getting set to have to take on some people pretending to be police! One upcoming episode set to air on NBC this January is going to feature a “police force” that is not sanctioned by the city, and may actually be committing several illegal acts of their own. In 2016, we have a feeling that you can see the problem with this. If a fake officer goes and commits a terrible act, outlets will spread it as though it is done by the actual police. The reputation of almost everyone involved takes a hit, and we’re left with something that is ultimately a little bit more of a mess where no one trusts anyone else.
As if this wasn’t enough, this same episode will also feature Halstead taking center stage for a story that has to do with Lindsay’s family history — one that will be explored further in the episodes leading up to this one.
When the show picks back up on January 3, it will be with a two-part crossover story with “Chicago Fire” that puts the spotlight largely on Kelly Severide. (You can read more about this episode over here, and we’ve got a lengthy Q&A piece about it coming up before it airs.) Meanwhile, there will be another episode following this the very next day featuring the arrival of “Revenge” actor Nick Weschler as an officer in Kenny Rixton with ties to Voight. You’ll be seeing this story with the fake police after these two come on the air.
