‘Bones’ series finale: David Boreanaz shares final shot of the series and more

Booth -For those of you who weren’t emotional before about the ending of “Bones,” we have it on pretty good authority that you probably are now. The wrap party took place a few days ago, but there were apparently a few more scenes to be filmed judging from a few assorted messages we are seeing on social media.

If you look below, you can see via social media what David Boreanaz (who directed the final episode — and specifically showed the final shot of the series), Michaela Conlin, and other people who were a part of the goodbye experience. The series finale will be coming your way in March based on current scheduling, and will come at the tail end of the final season (as you would expect a finale to). The new season is going to premiere on Tuesday, January 3, so that is something for fans to have marked on their calendars.

So what can you expect from these final episodes? We imagine that it will walk the line between the familiar and the new. This is a show that is obviously cognizant of the fact that it’s had this long, tremendous run on television, and it is going to want to do everything that it can to pay proper tribute to that. Yet, at the same time there is likely a certain awareness that it doesn’t want to end doing the same exact thing that it has in many other seasons. You want to put a creative stamp on it that’s memorable and satisfying for everyone. Therefore, we expect everyone (Cam, Angela, Booth, and Brennan) getting some new challenges to face before the end.

Also, there’ll probably be a few laughs along the way. This is a show that has always walked the line with comedic and serious moments, and we don’t imagine the final season to be any different. A dramatic shift and tone at this point could be potentially jarring.
