‘Vikings’ season 4, episode 13 preview: Ragnar’s risk in ‘Two Journeys’
In a mere matter of hours, the latest episode of “Vikings” is going to unfold on History, and if everything takes place precisely as we expect for it to, we’re going to be in for quite an eventful stretch as Ragnar once again tries to do what he can in order to pick up some of the pieces.
The good news, for now, is that he’s alive. The bad news? Well, that’s just about everything else given that he doesn’t have a substantial crew at his side anymore, and he’s only going to have Ivar for counsel. Not only that, but he will be reliant on someone else in order to properly determine his fate. Not exactly where he wants to be. This is a man who, at times during his life, liked to be thought of as this great symbol of power and control. Now, he’s being forced to look towards others as his future swirls around him.
For a little bit more insight, just take a look at the synopsis below:
“Ragnar’s fleet is shipwrecked and washes up on the Wessex coast, but without enough survivors to form a credible force, Ragnar and Ivar have a difficult decision to make. Rollo meets his Viking comrades again and can’t resist the urge to join Bjorn’s voyage, risking his marriage and his new Frankish identity. Ragnar too is taking a risk as he carries Ivar towards the Royal Villa in Wessex – throwing himself and his son upon the mercy of King Ecber.”
As for the promo below, it does the one great thing that many “Vikings” promos do: Create a sweeping sense of scale and drama. As for finer details, it doesn’t give you as much beyond a rather fantastic shot of Ragnar with Ivar to go along with Lagertha kicking some butt and taking names.
Before we go, can we think History for a minute for taking a risk and airing “Vikings” during the holiday season? It’s absolutely nice to have something to discuss during what is one of the quieter times of the year.
