‘NCIS’ season 14, episode 10 video: Ducky’s got a holiday story…

Tuesday night’s new episode of “NCIS” isn’t just the last one of the season; we’ve also learned that the show will be ringing in the holiday season! Few shows do a Christmas special quite like “NCIS” and the writers continue to find new ways to bring about the themes of the holidays without letting it get stale — which cannot always be that easy given that we are fourteen years into the show at this point and there are so many stories that we’ve seen play out already.

Before we say anything else, we do have to say that the thumbnail below may be the greatest one in the history of “NCIS.” If a strategically-placed hat isn’t over-the-top for this show, then we ask you what is?

The reason for this said thumbnail is part of a Ducky story, one that he will relay to the rest of the team after a body is discovered carrying a connection to him. Much of this is going to tie back to a part of his personal history, which allows for Adam Campbell to step in once again playing the younger version of this character. Ducky is really the only character to routinely get this sort of flashback treatment, but it makes some sense for him given that he probably has the richest life out of anyone on the entire team, and given his job with the NCIS team, it’s a little harder to personally separate him from the lab to go out in the field.

At the end of the preview, you see the team offering up a toast to Ducky. Here’s to hoping that this is just them all wishing him a Merry Christmas and not any sign that he’s leaving! We haven’t heard any evidence of that sort of thing, but we do worry given what a year it’s been so far when it comes to cast members from CBS series departing.
