‘Vikings’ season 4, episode 12 preview: What lies ahead in ‘The Vision’
Tonight, “Vikings” premiered after a lengthy hiatus with a story that picked up quite a long time after the events of the first half of the season, and with many new struggles for Ragnar courtesy of his actions, his time away, and the differences of opinion he now faces. The episodes to come are going to cause further problems for Travis Fimmel’s character, and at the same time we’re also going to see quite a bit more of Ivar the Boneless — a character we’re very excited to see just based on his reputation as one of the most-feared men of the era.
“The Vision” is the title of the next new episode airing in a matter of days. Now, visions have played a part of the show so far in the series, and we have to presume that this is going to be the same this time around, as well.
Synopsis – “The Kattegat locals chide Ragnar that the gods have deserted him as he struggles to crew his voyage to Wessex. It’s Bjorn who has charisma now as he prepares to fulfill his long-held dream to explore the Mediterranean in a sleek new boat built for him by Floki. By contrast, Ragnar must accept weathered boats and a crew he has bribed but when Aslaug foresees that the fleet will be lost in a vicious storm her warnings go un-heeded by Ragnar and her precious son, Ivar.”
On paper, all of this sounds dangerous, and at the same time further evidence now of how far Ragnar has fallen — he’s put himself into a position where he has to convince people to work under him rather than do so out of allegiance.
Also, we don’t see the idea of Ragnar at sea with this said crew and his boats ending particularly well.
