‘Westworld’ finale spoilers: Ford, Dolores look towards the future in ‘The Bicameral Mind’

We were wondering why “Westworld” didn’t release the official synopsis for the season 1 finale entitled “The Bicameral Mind” after episode 9 aired last Sunday and one of our theories was that maybe HBO had something in there that potentially spoiled the events that happened in last Sunday’s new episode.

After seeing the official synopsis for this episode below, we’re starting to think a little bit differently and that it may have just been due to the Thanksgiving holiday:

“Ford (Anthony Hopkins) unveils his bold new narrative; Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) embraces her identity; Maeve (Thandie Newton) sets her plan in motion.”

Is there anything in here that constitutes a huge spoiler? Not exactly. Mostly, this is where we anticipated seeing this story go. With Dolores, for example, it always felt as though we were going to arrive at a point where she faced her true self, what she has done in her past and how she’s going to deal with it all moving forward now that she is remembering things.

Meanwhile, Ford was not going to sit idly by and let AI’s ruin everything the’s created – not even Bernard who has basically been his right hand man for some time now. Maeve is another big loose end that needs to be tied up as she is growing her army (mostly consisting of Hector) to be able to escape Westworld entirely and live out in the real world where no one can control her.

In between this synopsis and the promo that is already out there for this episode, it definitely feels as though there is still quite a bit to look forward to in regards to the final episode.

What we have already learned is that there will reportedly be an element of closure to the finale, and that season 2 will contain its own story and its own themes. Maybe it’ll be interconnected more than an “American Horror Story” season, but we don’t expect every thread this season to stay dangling entering the hiatus.
