‘Supergirl’ season 2, episode 9 preview: Return date hopes for Melissa Benoist series
While “Supergirl” tonight has been promoted rather extensively thanks to it being the beginning of the Heroes v. Aliens crossover event, at the same exact time you also cannot forget that this also marks the official winter finale for the show. There are many more episode still to come this season (we’ve got 22 in total for season 2), but you’re going to be waiting for a little while to learn what’s next.
Specifically, think here in terms of Monday, January 16. According to the Futon Critic, that’s when the show is going to be coming back. Because of the crossover that’s going on this week, we’re not sure that there’s going to be further confirmation on that for a little while, so we may just have to take a little bit of a wait-and-see approach with that.
What we do know is the sort of pattern that the majority of the shows on The CW tend to take (at least when it comes to the superhero ones), and that includes airing new episodes from mid-January until March, and then going on another hiatus until later in April. From here, you tend to get the new episodes that run all of the way until May. Hopefully, in here we’ll get a further sense as to precisely what Kara is up against the rest of the season. We also know that there is another crossover coming with “The Flash” that is supposedly musical in nature, though we haven’t heard that much about it in a while.
Above all else, we’d just say to look forward to seeing more of the same from this show. It tends to remain relatively light even in the midst of all of the serious stuff that’s going down, and we don’t imagine this pattern changing all that much.
