‘Supergirl’ season 2: How does Mon-El impact Kara, Winn?
Even though romance isn’t always at the forefront of “Supergirl” as a series, it’s been bubbling underneath the surface for many weeks now for Kara and Mon-El, and it’s fairly easy to understand why. He looks at her as someone he can relate to, and we also feel like there’s a certain rebellious charge to him that finds it rather fascinating to be romantically intertwined with someone from Krypton. He effectively asked if she was single at the end of this past episode, and you have to think that this is going to be playing a role in the story to come.
So how is someone like Winn going to react to this idea? Well, judging from what Jeremy Jordan had to say to TVLine, the idea of Kara being with this newcomer could cause him to think back on some of his own feelings from the past:
“I think he’s a little bit worried that Mon-El might be moving in on Kara, and I think it brings up old feelings in Winn that he’s sort of packed down … He never really dealt with what went down with Kara in Season 1, so if something starts happening there, he’s going to have to figure out how to deal with it.”
We will be the first person to admit to having a little bit of bias on the subject of what’s going on between Kara and Winn, largely due to the fact that we probably ‘ship them harder than any other pair. He’s been there for her the longest, even before she started using her powers to help other people, and we think that his feelings for her are probably the purest. However, we’re not in a hurry for this or really any other romance to happen on the show, given that many of the relationships out there in the CW superhero universe have proven to be flawed. Barry and Iris probably are the best one to date, mostly because the show’s just allowed them to exist without forcing so much drama on them.
Of course, Monday night marks the beginning of the crossover! Head over here right now to watch a sneak peek from this episode, and we will be back with even more news tomorrow. (Photo: The CW.)
