Is ‘Lethal Weapon’ episode 8 new tonight? First look at Christmas episode!

For all the “Lethal Weapon” fans out there, today we come bearing what is a combination of great-news and rather-sad news. Let’s start with this: There is no new episode of the show airing on Fox tonight, with the oh-so-simple reason for that being the sole fact that we’ve got some other priorities with this being the day before Thanksgiving.

Would it be fun to be able to spend tonight watching stuff blow up while getting together desserts for tomorrow? Sure, but we recognize that Fox wants to capitalize on their investment in terms of the ratings — and putting this show on the air tonight is not conducive to that.

We don’t want you to go the whole night without some news related to an upcoming episode this season, so why not spend a moment or two discussing another holiday in Christmas? Specifically, we’re putting a focus here on “Jingle Bell Glock,” the upcoming December 7 episode of the series, and one that looks on paper like there will be a few interesting things going on.

For Murtaugh, you’re going to get a good source of comedy in this episode from him trying to deal with his neighbor’s holiday decorations — think along the lines of some of those reality shows where you see people go all-out in an effort to engage in the craziness. Meanwhile, for Riggs you’re going to be seeing something completely different courtesy of him trying to look back at Christmases gone by that he once spent with his wife Miranda.

From a casting standpoint, this episode will feature Raul Casso (“Fear the Walking Dead”) as Eddie Flores, a relative of a notorious drug kingpin, someone who has a history with Riggs that could prove problematic. This character will come into play when a homicide takes place that puts everyone’s holiday celebrations on ice — at least for a little while.
