‘Dancing with the Stars 23’ finale: Is it between Laurie Hernandez, James Hinchcliffe?
After a fun, dramatic, and at times exciting season of “Dancing with the Stars,” we’re now officially nearing the end of the road. Tuesday night marks the final episode of the year, and the last chance for some of these remaining dancers to prove that they have what it takes in order to take home the Mirror-ball Trophy.
For the sake of this article, the question that we want to try and answer is this: Who’s got the best shot of winning this season? Who’s in the best position to make this happen? There are several strong contenders, but you know what the saying is: There can only be ONE who is able to pull this off when the dust settles.
As of right now, we’d say that the favorite to take home the Mirror-ball based on scores, trajectory, and also popularity is Laurie Hernandez. She’s a famous Olympian coming off of probably the peak of her celebrity status, so there is very little reason to think as though anything else could be happening. Why wouldn’t she get the votes necessary? The only reason we could think of for a possible roadblock is simply that she’s been a frontrunner for so long that she could lose a few votes from people who are being more or less apathetic and expecting that their votes won’t matter because she’s a lock to win.
As for another contender, right now you have to look at someone in James Hinchcliffe who has serious underdog cred right now. He’s also someone who performed last at the end of the show, and got a rather tremendous ovation for his freestyle routine. Typically, you want to be fresh in people’s minds as they are casting their votes. If most internet polls out there are to be believed, we do personally feel as though it’s going to be between James and Laurie. Calvin Johnson may still have a chance, but we believe it to be more of an long shot rather than one we should be looking at seriously.
