‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8, episode 9 video: Beale, is that a hand grenade?
We did it, people — we finally had a chance to throw an “Anchorman” reference into an article all about “NCIS: Los Angeles.”
The sneak peek below is ridiculously entertaining to us in so many ways, mostly because it’s one of the more comedic interrogation scenes we ever would’ve imagined having for this show. Artem Fedor’s come in of his own accord to try to answer some questions of Deeks, and about halfway through, Eric Beale decides all of a sudden that he wants to play Bad Cop. How in the world do you explain otherwise bringing a grenade into the picture?
This entire exchange is fun mostly because it turns out that Beale doesn’t have a hand grenade at all; instead, he’s just carrying around some jelly beans. Hey, we suppose that he got hungry in the middle of the mission! Also, apparently the threat of having said grenade is a little more effective than the actual grenade itself.
We know that eventually, a good part of this episode will be geared around Callen’s father being interrogated in part by his son, so that’s something more to look out for moving forward. For the time being, though, we suppose that the only advice that we can hand down is that we hope you enjoy this sort of scene! We like getting to have characters like Nell and Eric a little more involved and out there, largely because we think it’s so interesting getting to see them mix things up and showcase a little more of their own unique brand of skills — with a special emphasis her on the word “unique.”
