‘This Is Us’ episode 7 reaction: How will Beth handle William’s news?

Tonight’s new episode of “This Is Us” had a lot of different things going on, whether it be some steps forward in the relationship between Kevin and Randall or getting a chance to see some complications play out with Jack and Rebecca courtesy of some other people in their lives.

However, one of the biggest reveals over the course of the episode came via William, who made it clear to Beth that he was familiar with Rebecca for a rather long time. Basically, he could’ve turned things around far earlier than he did, and now Beth has a decision to make: Should she tell Randall about it? She wants the best for him, but of course at the same time she doesn’t want to hurt him. This is a dilemma that she’s going to have to debate — but she won’t do so forever. Speaking on this subject to Entertainment Weekly, show creator Dan Fogelman had the following to say:

“It’s a matter of time. The clock is ticking very quickly. If you’ve been watching the show and watching particularly the marriage between Beth and Randall, I think you know this isn’t something she’s going to keep from her husband for very long. And if Rebecca doesn’t do the right thing and come forward, Beth is going to do something if it comes to that. So that question is going to be getting answered very quickly.”

Whenever this comes out, you have to think that there will be complications, and they’ll probably be painful. We just feel for Randall given everything else that he’s already been going through as of late.
