‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8 spoilers: YouTube star, ‘Amazing Race’ alum Blair Fowler to guest-star

This season of “NCIS: Los Angeles” so far has touched on a wide array of different themes. For example, we’ve seen Deeks learn to operate at a different speed to help Kensi go through her recovery, while at the same time there’s some of that same high-octane action that you expect to see on the show.

Meanwhile, the next new episode on CBS will feature an opportunity to see Callen’s father back on the show, but for a situation that could prove to be especially complicated as he finds himself in an interrogation room.

For the sake of the remainder of this article, we’re focusing on something that is in a completely different direction from any of this. Specifically, we’re talking about an appearance from Blair Flowler on an upcoming episode.

According to TVLine, the YouTube fashion star (and recent “Amazing Race” contestant) is going to be appearing on an upcoming episode of the show as Poppy, a viral internet star who will need the help of Sam after a meet-and-greet with fans takes an unexpected turn. There’s not a whole lot more to say about the appearance at this time, but we do certainly commend CBS on what looks on the surface to be a very-smart hire. After all, you’re bringing on someone with not only a considerable following, but a following that is very different from your own. You always want to be trying to diversify your audience in television, so this is a smart move — even if the appearance is a brief one.
