‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 6 video: Barry breaks the news on Kid Flash

On Tuesday night’s new episode of “The Flash,” we’re going to be seeing an hour of TV in “Shade” that could be problematic for many of the relationships. After all, we’re getting another slice of predictable West family drama coming right up!

Here’s where one of the central conflicts in this episode lies: Wally West is going to start to have dreams in which he sees himself as something greater. Specifically, he’s seeing himself become a speedster in the way that he’s always wanted. This prompts the sneak peek below, where we see a conversation break out between Barry and Wally over the issue, and Barry finally opening up regarding what he saw of him within the Flashpoint universe.

Barry wasn’t being a jerk in trying to keep this information from him — rather, it was for his own safety. He was well aware of the fact that if he were to tell Wally the truth about this other universe, he’d probably start to go overboard and imagine that he could find a way to become a speedster in this world. That’s happening now, and it could become extremely problematic given what it could entail: Finding Doctor Alchemy, the man responsible for everything that’s happened with giving people powers who previously had them in the other universe.

We’ll learn more about Alchemy in due time; the main issue fr now is the classic struggle of Wally wanting to prove to his father and to Barry that he is a hero more than capable of rising to the challenge. However, they’re wary of the idea. He is still very young, and at the same time, very much reckless. Barry didn’t ask to become The Flash, and there is therefore a very different sort of weight and responsibility that comes out of being a Speedster.
