‘The Walking Dead’ season 7, episode 4 video: Negan comes knocking at Alexandria

Would you believe that Negan is the most prominent character on “The Walking Dead” so far through season 7? It may be somewhat strange to say that right now, but it’s the truth! He was in the premiere, and after skipping episode 2 he was around last week and will be around once more tomorrow. Maybe Daryl is tied with him if he ends up turning up, but we’ll have to wait and see for more there.

What we do know, judging from the new sneak peek below, is that Rosita, Eugene, and everyone else is going to be feeling a tad screwed when they realize that Negan and Lucille are knocking outside of the gate. Clearly, Negan doesn’t really care about being exposed, even temporarily, to the dangers of the outside world. We also would think that the guy would get awfully sweaty wearing that outfit around all of the time, but he clearly doesn’t care that much about it.

To us, probably the most chilling part about the entire sneak peek is seeing Eugene talk even for a second about anything related to audio, mostly because that’s triggering us at this point and making us think almost entirely about “Easy Street” all over again. (Sadly, it’s probably not going to be easy street for any of these people.)

We already know what the Saviors want from the people of Alexandria, and for the time being, it does make a certain degree of sense to give it to them since you don’t want to be kicked while you’re already down. Yet, we know Rick Grimes, and he’s not the sort of character who’s going to shrug his shoulders and be okay with this arrangement forever. Sooner or later, this is a guy who’s going to make a move in a different direction, and it could be a seismic one.
