‘MacGyver’ episode 9 preview: What will Bozer do?

Bozer -Tonight’s “MacGyver” episode on CBS on paper certainly appears to be a big one. Not only are we going to have an opportunity to see the show’s version of one of the original series’ adversaries in Murdoc, but you’re also going to see a key revelation made on the part of Mac’s roommate Bozer. For us, this is tremendously exciting just because Justin Hires deserves a chance to do a lot more on this show than he’s done so far, but we imagine that for the character himself, this throws him into a rather-interesting pickle. We cannot imagine that this is what he thought he was originally signing up for when he first started rooming with Angus, and he’s probably going to find himself in some dangerous situations.

Alas, if only Bozer and Hires’ “Rush Hour” character of James Carter were the same person…

Anyhow, next week’s new episode entitled “Chisel” is going to offer up an opportunity to see some of the aftermath of the Bozer reveal — and a few other important things, as well.

Synopsis – “With only a chisel and matchbook, MacGyver and team must defend themselves the U.S. embassy workers in Latvia from extremists who are attempting to retrieve their leader. Also, Bozer faces a big decision now that he knows who Mac really is.”

As per usual with this show, CBS is emphasizing more on the gimmick than almost anything else with the story; still, this one does seem relatively interesting on the surface. What we wonder is if there is going to be any sort of heightened drama or tension that is thrown in there because of the fact that this is the final episode before we’ll be taking a week off for Thanksgiving. In the end, time will tell on that front.
