‘Supernatural’ season 12, episode 6 preview: On Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and a further struggle
By and large, we tend to find a certain degree of fun in almost every “Supernatural” episode. It’s hard not to when you’ve got two guys at the center of the show in Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles who have pretty darn amazing chemistry with each other.
Yet, there is something about the next all-new episode of the show entitled “Celebrating the Life of Asa Fox” that sounds poignant and powerful. After all, it seems like almost the entirety of the hour is set around some sort of wake, where we are going to see many hunters mourning the loss of someone they cared about dearly. As a result of this, apparently these demons decided that this would be the time to be as terrible as possible.
Synopsis – “When hunters gather together to celebrate the life and tragic death of one of their own, Sam (Jared Padalecki) Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) must take action when a demon starts picking off hunters one by one.”
The episode sounds fairly straightforward when you put it this way, and it also sounds like the odds are going to be stacked against our heroes since there are only three of them if you include Mary in there.
Promo – We would say here that in terms of the tone, this is certainly a little bit lighter than we expected — but not by much. This promo gives us the sense that we’re going to see something that is scary, atmospheric, and very much in the vein of some old-school stories. The big different here is that we’ve got Mary around, and the brothers are obviously much more skilled at doing this sort of stuff than they once were.
