‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 8, episode 4 video: Damon finds strange company

Tomorrow night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries” will be here before you know it, and for one Damon Salvatore, one thing feels pretty darn clear: We’re going to continue to see him not of his own mind.

In the sneak peek below, you can see that the character is looking for someone … at least to a certain extent. It’s not so much that he is looking for someone so much as that he is continuing to do Sybil’s bidding, and she has him out doing his own version of a manhunt, trying to find answers as to the location of a man she very much wants to try and track down. What results from here is a very funny exchange, and one where he realizes that he and the guy he’s speaking to have more in common, in a rather odd and perverse way, than you would think.

While we do enjoy the storyline that the show’s conjured up at the moment for Ian Somerhalder’s character, at the same exact time we are very much worried about whether or not we are going to see him snap out of this anytime soon. We don’t want Damon to remain in her control up to the series finale; that’s far too depressing a condition to think of as we get closer and closer to the end of the series. Personally, we’d like to see things start to become closer to normal over the next few weeks, that way there’s a good bit of time in order for him to start to return to normal and figure out what he wants out of the rest of his life.

Meanwhile, when it comes to Sybil, we’re fine that she sticks around for a long time. After all, she’s a good villain! Being unlikable is one of the major ways to ensure that.
