‘The X Factor’ UK: Honey G not dead, despite most ridiculous rumor ever

There is officially someone out there who is an “X Factor” fan with way too much time on their hands.

Earlier today, a story first came on line stating that rapper Honey G, easily the most-divisive contestant still around in the competition, was dead after engaging in some massive shootout … seriously. There were all sorts of ridiculous embellishments about this said shootout, which really should’ve been even more of a giveaway that nothing could be further from the truth.

Now, we come to the point where we stress it: This isn’t the case. It’s completely insane to think otherwise. She’s alive and well. We don’t think the original hoax was made necessarily with malice, but you gotta imagine that from her perspective, this all most likely feels really violent and strange.

In speaking further of strange, there is a chance that Honey G could end up making it super-deep in the competition still. She’s never been in jeopardy on the show, she’s never had any major reason to sweat, and there are more stories every week published about her than almost any other person this season — hey, even we’re doing it. The only other contestants remaining still getting this sort of press are Ryan Lawrie and Emily Middlemas, and that’s because the two parties are in a relationship.

It’s possible that all of this changes this weekend and Honey G is eliminated, but that’s something that we’ll figure out then. The first thing we gotta see is the judges actually try to level some sort of tangible criticism towards her for a change. We don’t exactly see that on a regular basis, and it’s certainly something that would be music to our ears.
