NBC’s ‘The Voice’ rankings: Where Billy Gilman, Riley Elmore, Simone Gundy stand on Team Adam Levine

Team Adam -While we’re pretty confident about some teams entering the Live Playoffs for “The Voice” on Monday night (in particular, we think that Miley Cyrus has a real beast of a team), the crew led for the time being by Adam Levine is a little bit more enigmatic. While there are some people on it that we certainly consider talented, there are some similarities between some of them and we wonder whether or not they are going to really stand out, are start to get lost in the shuffle over time.

We’re basing the rankings for Team Adam in the same way that we are all of the others we’ve spotlighted so far — they key points of emphasis here are performance quality, screen time so far on the show, and whether or not there is an architecture in place to deliver a lot of votes from people watching at home.

5. Josh Gallagher – A very solid performer, but when you look at the remainder of Adam’s team, he just gets lost in the shuffle a little bit. Add to that the fact that he was just stolen during the Knockout Rounds, and while we’re not docking him because of losing on his old team, we do wonder whether Adam, if he has to make a choice, will be more partial to people who’ve been on his team longer.

4. Brendan Fletcher – There are some comparisons between Brendan and Josh, and we just think that in general, there are so many guys on this team that some of them are going to get lost in the shuffle a little bit. We’re worried about Brendan somewhat for that.

3. Simone Gundy – Simone’s got a very good voice, and she’s aided further because of the team that ultimately surrounds her. She’s very difficult musically, and as the only woman she’ll be significantly more memorable than she would be on other teams loaded with female talent.

2. Riley Elmore – We said during the Knockouts that we performed Jason Warrior’s performance, but at the same time we think that Riley’s voice and style will give him a nice leg up in the competition. He performs a type of music that remains very popular with fans of this show, and if he can work further on his stage presence, he’ll be a significant force this season.

1. Billy Gilman – Far and away, you gotta consider Billy the favorite of this group and a potential winner of the show. On his own, he does have a really great voice with an incredible range and ability to emote during the music. He also has an enormous following from his career many years ago. He’s absolutely someone to watch throughout the season.
