NBC’s ‘The Voice’ rankings: Where Jason Warrior, Austin Allsup, Sundance Head stand on Team Blake Shelton

Blake -There are some seasons on “The Voice” where you go into the Live Playoffs with a pretty good indication as to what’s going to happen, and who are the favorites from a given team. We’re not sure you can say that about the people on Team Blake Shelton. This is a pretty unpredictable bunch! Sure, there are some artists who are more traditional for him in terms of genre, but we think he’s going some really talented people this time around.

We’re going to for the most part ignore steals and all of that for these rankings; instead, we’re looking at who we think are the most dynamic performers, and also the people who’ll probably resonate the most with America and have that close attachment to their coach.

5. Dana Harper – We do think Dana’s really talented, and she’s been with Blake for the majority of her time on the show. We just think she’s disadvantaged by being on a team with so many other powerful singers who also either have familiarity with Blake’s base or familiarity due to screen time or story.

4, Courtney Harrell – If she was on a team that didn’t favor country, we’d probably have her higher since her voice is amazing, and to go along with that, she’s also got the added benefit of being relatively well-known in some circles. She could generate a pretty solid social-media campaign.

3. Austin Allsup – The big advantage Austin’s got is that he and Blake already have an established connection, and that sort of country collaboration could go along way; if Blake has a chance to add him to his team at the end of everything Monday, he probably will strongly consider it.

2. Jason Warrior – We see America really getting behind Jason, a guy who’s really received a lot of screen time and, for whatever reason, bounced around in terms of team. We really think that he should’ve won his Knockout Round performance; maybe you can argue he needs a little more control at times, but his range and his sheer ability to work the stage is almost inhuman.

1. Sundance Head – We’re putting some stock into Sundance’s past history on “American Idol,” just as we’re putting in here his musicianship, his affinity in country music, and the giant beard. (Hey, voters love beards!) Let’s just put it this way: He actually moved us with a performance of “The Climb” for the first time in ages. This isn’t a slam on the song; it’s just singing-show overkill at this point.
