‘Chicago Fire’ season 5 spoilers: Be prepared for an emotional Dawson story
One of things that makes “Chicago Fire” so powerful as a drama is that rarely, it ever leaves its characters off the hook. Right when you start to think that someone will have a little bit of peace and/or breathing room, something happens that causes this said expectation to suddenly shatter.
For the upcoming November 22 episode that carries with it the title of “That Day,” you are going to specifically experience this terrible situation for Monica Raymund’s character of Gabby Dawson. She’s been working on ambulance duty for most of the season, in part because it keeps her out of harm’s way. Unfortunately, one situation within this episode could have her actions bringing harm to someone else.
During this episode, Dawson will be at the center of an accident when she hits a pedestrian while driving the ambulance, and she will have to deal with whatever the ramifications are of this said incident. While this is happening, Casey could be somewhat distracted courtesy of an ongoing dispute with Severide over an arson case, one that is going to be picking up steam on the episode that aired before on November 15. (See a preview for that over at this link.)
While all of this is happening, be prepared for a storyline revolving around Chief Boden that is very much different than we’ve seen from him before, as he will be attending a function in New York. We believe this to be tied to him being a part of the September 11 rescue effort in some way; this is a story that Eamonn Walker revealed to us while in the Windy City during the One Chicago press day, and it sounds as though it will be powerful and then some.
