‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 8, episode 7 video: Callen’s undercover mission; Deeks, Kensi’s recovery

NCIS LA -Undercover missions are a relatively familiar occurrence within the world of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” so to see another one happening on Sunday night’s new episode of the series is not much of a surprise. Still, this one in particular could be even more trying for the team than the typical one, since you are venturing into a place in a mental-health facility that is so often plagued with various stigmas and complications.

Before going any further, let’s give you the official CBS explanation for “Crazy Train.”

Synopsis – “Callen goes undercover as a patient in a mental health hospital to search for an NSA agent who disappeared while tracking an ISIS cell trying to cross the Mexican border.”

We do hope that the episode takes more of a serious look at what goes on within these hospitals, and that this title is meant to be a little bit tongue-in-cheek rather than a stark generalization of the sort of people Callen runs into there. You can get a small suggestion below as to just how training this undercover mission is going to be to him, but it’s only a minor piece to the puzzle.

The other sneak peek is a little bit more of a mix of lighthearted fare and seriousness. It starts off innocently enough, given that we have here a rather-funny conversation that is geared almost entirely around the subject of superpowers. Sam and Callen engage with Deeks in here, thinking that he’s going to have a silly answer for them. However, they soon after that realize precisely how much he is going through, and it pumps the brakes on almost the entire conversation. Kensi may be awake, but it’s clear that her recovery is going to be a slow one. For us, the nice takeaway from this is that Marty is going to be there for her every step of the way.
