‘Arrow’ season 5, episode 5 sneak peek: Prometheus vs. Church; who’s the man in the silver mask?

While there are many shows across network TV being preempted tonight due to the World Series, “Arrow” is one of the few still plotting a course forward. “Human Target” is still going to air (albeit probably to lower ratings), and you better prepare at the same time to see more of the Big Bad of the season in Prometheus.

The sneak peek below shows the character paying another visit to Tobias Church, who he threatened previously about steering clear of the Green Arrow. He’s now got one of his associates in Wild Dog locked away, and Prometheus isn’t a fan of that. Church doesn’t seem to care, and has hired some mysterious dude in a silver mask t help protect him from “freaks” who may be targeting his life. We’ll see just how successful he really is. Prometheus does warn that there won’t be another chance for Church to get out of this situation with more pain and hurt coming his way. so we’ll have to see if that turns out to be true.

While we love Chad Coleman and find Church to be a fantastic villain, having him die at Prometheus’ hand would be a worthy way for the character to go. After all, this would further cement Prometheus’ status as the most-feared villain of the season, and a character so intent on getting what he (or at least we think it’s a he) wants that he’ll kill anyone to make it happen.

What complicates all of this further is that Church wants to target Mayor Oliver Queen, unaware of the connection between him and the Green Arrow. What is Prometheus knows this, and then promptly goes after him? We’re not ruling that out.
