‘Fuller House’ season 2 trailer: A year in the life
Who says that “Gilmore Girls” has to be the only Netflix show offering up a snapshot of a specific period of time? “Fuller House” may not be embracing the “year in the life” theme as much as their counterpart on the streaming service, but you absolutely get the sense through the latest trailer that similar themes are being included, whether it be getting older, examining the past, or figuring out what your legacy is.
In this world, though, it’s being done more with silly sound effects and cheesy catchphrases.
We’re not going to pretend that “Fuller House” is TV magic. Instead, it’s mostly a silly sitcom that capitalizes for the most part off of the warm sentiments that viewers seemed to have around the original “Full House” so many years ago. We don’t blame Netflix for wanting to continue the brand, mostly because the show does produce some humor here and there and in a very short amount of time, it’s also become one of their most successful shows they put on the air. It doesn’t cost a ridiculous amount of money to make, and the publicity that it gets pays for itself time and time again. There are many other “art-house shows” that Netflix has to attract that demographic. It’s also smart for them to have products that appeal to the mainstream.
Some highlights in this trailer include the return of Bob Saget, seeing Kimmy’s brother Jimmy (who apparently gets romantic with DJ Tanner at one point), some ridiculous turkey-gobbler, and such holidays as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s Eve. There’s a lot that is being crammed in this time!
The new season will officially start streaming on December 9.
