‘Madam Secretary’ season 3, episode 4 video: ‘The Dissent Memo’ and football

Madam Secretary -There is a new episode of “Madam Secretary” coming onto CBS on Sunday night, and based on the wide array of sneak peeks released by the network, it feels pretty darn clear that the show wants you to be excited about a wide array of different things.

First things first, let’s talk about Elizabeth McCord having to step outside of her comfort zone to do something that she does not consider to be her personal cup of tea: Campaigning. With President Dalton unable to take part in everything on the trail, she has to try to figure out precisely how she can be of use while not drifting far from her duties of Secretary of State. This means effectively that she is going to be doing an interview with CBS football guru James Brown, and we imagine that this in turn will prove to be an interesting experiment for her given some of the challenges at her feet.

One of the biggest challenges Dalton and Elizabeth are facing right now in the election have to do with old, archaic rules in certain states that need to be changed. If she can go on this show with Brown and make comparisons between changing this rule and changing NFL rules, there’s at least a reasonably good shot that she could get some people on her side.

The other challenge of the episode, as made clear in some of the sneak peeks below, has to deal with easing tensions in Africa over Dalton’s treatment of Angola and their election there. When it starts to appear as though not enough attention is being paid there to an election, she has to figure out a way to convince them otherwise. The problem there is that some of her actions could contradict key battle cries in some of the swing states Dalton is desperate to try and win.
