‘The Flash’ season 3, episode 4: Jesse Quick prepares for some huge threats
There are some exciting times coming on Tuesday night’s new episode of “The Flash,” but these are also extremely-dangerous times for one Jesse Quick. She’s only had powers for around an episode now, and already she will be doing her part in order to help The Flash himself take on some villains. This isn’t a show that throws anyone into the kiddie pool, so you can’t be that surprised to find out that she is squaring off against the likes of Mirror Master, The Top, and potentially even Captain Cold over the course of an episode. As for how Captain Cold is impacted by Flashpoint, if he is impacted at all, remains to be seen.
In talking about this character’s evolution and how much danger Jesse is in, the woman behind the role in Violett Beane said the following to IGN:
“It’s pretty crazy that these are the villains she’s going up against, because Mirror Master is insane. His power is amazing. His capabilities are great and I think this duo is going to be next to unstoppable, so it’s going to take all of Jesse and Barry to fight them. I love that Wentworth [Miller] is coming back. I love his character. Captain Cold’s always been a big villain for me, so yeah, this episode I think is going to be a pretty, pretty good one. Those are some heavy villains.”
Can Barry coexist with another Speedster for a long time? That’s one of the questions that we have, given that we could also see it possible that he trains her, and then she goes back home to Earth-2 and serves as a hero there. We don’t want that, and we also want to see Harry stick with her in this world. It’s just somewhat difficult to figure out precisely how the show is going to continue to shift and evolve. Like many other series out there, it has to stay fresh, and the biggest struggle it probably faces at this point is simply that there are so many people with powers.
