Through four episodes of “Westworld,” we’ve started to get a sense as to some of the scope of this world, and also a little bit of the drama that’s present there. It’s a place where there is some adventure and there are a few good people (and AIs), but they are often overshadowed by all of the monsters looking at the place as their own personal version of the purge.
The journey of this show is thankfully going to continue moving into next week’s “Contrapasso,” a story that will be for the most part all about a journey to a fascinating new place in Pariah. What awaits some of the characters there could come as a surprise. To go along with this, we’re also going to see some further development in terms of what’s coming with the Man in Black and the Maze.
Synopsis – “Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood), William (Jimmi Simpson) and Logan (Ben Barnes) reach Pariah, a town built on decadence and transgression – and are recruited for a dangerous mission. The Man in Black (Ed Harris) meets an unlikely ally in his search to unlock the maze.”
Will this episode be key to giving us some of the further secrets of Westworld? There are many out there and therefore many theories, but we don’t quite think that the show is in a real rush to answer any of them. We’ve still got a good chunk of this season still to go, and ideally in a perfect world there will be more where this comes from. Given some of the buzz that is out there, we’re feeling at least reasonably optimistic that the rising ratings will lead to more episodes down the road.
