‘Masters of Sex’ season 4, episode 8 preview: Michael Sheen, Lizzy Caplan, and a road trip
Tonight, “Masters of Sex” brings us an episode full of clinic-related conflict, and it is of course inevitable that you would wonder after seeing this precisely how the story would move forward from here. Luckily, we’re happy to have a few answers! We’re going to see everyone continue to operate on the basis of what they want versus the interests of anyone else, and at the same time, we’re also going to see a bit of a road trip. This episode is entitled “Topeka” for a reason, people! We’ll be seeing Bill and Virginia head off on what is in some ways a secret-agent mission, and we’re interested in seeing how this will go.
Synopsis (via TV Guide) “Masters and Johnson go on the road and pose as a couple to investigate practices at a competing clinic. While Bill and Virginia are away, Art, Nancy and Langham take advantage of their absence to further their own agendas.”
On the surface, there is one problem with this mission that we detect more or less right away: Are people really not going to be able to recognize these two? This is not like season 1, where they are complete unknowns to everyone in the community. While we certainly think that it’s possible for the two to be able to mask themselves, it’s nowhere near as easy as it may have been at one point. Here’s to hoping that they have some good disguises picked out.
The hidden benefit to these two ultimately making this trip is that it may allow the two of them to have some further bonding, which could get them ever closer to the reconciliation that we all know is coming eventually.
