‘Poldark’ season 2, episode 9 preview: The aftermath of Ross’ Elizabeth decision

Sunday night’s “Poldark” absolutely took the cake when it comes to being incredibly dramatic, and to go along with that further, it also contained a few scenes that many people are going to be talking about for quite some time. Relationships have likely been changed forever, and in many ways not for the better. Are Ross and Demelza ever going to be the same after what happened with him and Elizabeth?

Early on next week, Ross and his wife are clearly not going to be in a good place, and as for Elizabeth, she may opt to make a decision of her own when it comes to George and the wedding.

Synopsis – “Ross closes Wheal Grace for good. With Elizabeth wrestling with a life-changing decision, Demelza’s world has been turned upside down. How will harmony be restored?”

The sad and simple answer to this question is that we’re not sure harmony can be restored, and Demelza may be compelled to make a few shocking decisions of her own following what Ross did to their relationship tonight.

Are there going to be some other compelling storylines for these characters aside from romance? Sure. For example, Ross may field a new business opportunity that is different from his recent mine operations, while at the same time he may run across an opportunity with said mines to alleviate himself of some of his debt. Maybe it’s a little too early to know for sure things are changing for the better, but at the moment we’re crossing our fingers and hoping for the best. Things are often so miserable for these characters that we’re hoping that eventually, we do see some happiness — though for Ross, he’s caused so much of his own misery this season that he has to contend with the consequences.
