‘Supergirl’ season 2, episode 3 sneak peek: Kara meets the President!
Monday night’s new episode of “Supergirl” is right around the corner, and you should know in advance that this one is going to have a particularly Presidential feel. For the first time, you’re going to get a chance to see Lynda Carter on the show in the role of the President of the United States!
Obviously, if you’ve followed the series for a long time now, you more than likely knew that this was coming. This is a casting that was first announced many weeks ago, and we’ve mostly been waiting to actually see her in action.
In the sneak peek below, you do get a slightly further sense as to what the scenes featuring the character will be like, and for the most part, they feel like plenty of fun! You get the sense that the show is painting a fairly optimistic view of the political world, where the President really believes that aliens and humans can come together in some sort of harmony and most aliens out there would welcome a chance to redeem themselves and prove to the world that they’re capable of fitting in. We understand why it would be easy to be cynical about this viewpoint, but at least the show is trying to give you a non-cynical view of politics. After all, they really don’t have to do that and they could very easily just do their part to try and mimic what is actually coming out in some of the headlines.
This preview doesn’t go too in-depth into the entire story for the episode, but you do get to see Kara do her best to protect the President. Not only that, but also get a chance for the show to remind us that there’s a reason why Hank isn’t just running around as the Martian Manhunter all of the time, other than that David Harewood would be out of a job (at least other than voiceover work) if that was the case.
