‘Nashville’ season 5 promo hypes up drama, returning characters
If you’re a fan of “Nashville,” then odds are, you are of the extremely-patient type. Earlier this spring, you had to endure the idea that the show may never air again after ABC opted to cancel it, and then there was an extensive back-and-forth between the studio Lionsgate and potential suitors. Eventually, it did find its way over to CMT and Hulu, with the two parties collaborating to bring the series back into the world.
The fifth season is now poised to premiere on Thursday, January 5 with a two-hour episode, and we’ve got the first promo for you below! This preview features some of the main cast members (Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Chris Carmack, Clare Bowen, Lennon Stella, and Sam Palladio) using both footage and voice-over content. It’s definitely effective for capturing not only the tone of the show, but the sort of spirit that we’re probably going to see the show have when it arrives on the network.
There are still questions that linger after watching this, and also for the series itself. For example, will the majority of ABC viewers flock over? We do think that the odds are good, mostly because we’re not sure how many people were actually watching the show at the time in which it was over because it was airing on that network. We just think people loved the show, and would watch it anywhere. The bigger question we’re concerned over is if the long layoff between episodes will cause bigger problems. Many cable shows are able to pull this sort of layoff off, so we’ll see if that works out here.
