‘Once Upon a Time’ season 6, episode 5: ‘Street Rats’ synopsis hints at search for Aladdin
We’ve made it no secret over time that we’ve wanted to see Aladdin grace the world of “Once Upon a Time,” and we’re certainly happy that the show is finally diving further into it. We first saw the character during the premiere, and moving into Sunday night’s new episode “Street Rats,” he is diving into the spotlight much more than ever before. That is an exciting proposition, primarily since it offers up further opportunities to learn how his story in turn impacts Storybrooke and the Land of Untold Stories in the present.
ABC recently unveiled the full synopsis for this episode, so (of course!) we invite you to take a good look at that below!
“In a flashback to Agrabah, Princess Jasmine recruits Aladdin to help her recover a secret weapon capable of breaking Jafar’s hold on the Sultan and saving the city from ruin. Their quest takes them to the Cave of Wonders where Aladdin’s fate is revealed. In Storybrooke, the Evil Queen tricks Hook and the Charmings and forces Emma to reveal her secret in an effort to divide the family. While the Evil Queen pampers Zelena, elsewhere in town, Regina and our heroes scramble to learn what became of Aladdin.”
We’re honestly surprised that ABC basically gives away that Emma ends up telling her secret regarding the premonition. To date, that’s been one of the real stories that’s defined this season, given that Emma finds herself once again in this position where she feels like one of the best ways to protect herself and others is to be dishonest. That is never a particularly easy position to be in, especially since at this point, there could be a sentiment of “shouldn’t you really know this isn’t the right way to do things?”. We feel like we’ve seen this show enough to know that secrets and lies (no we’re not talking about that other ABC show) rarely end up working out in the way they were first planned.
