‘NCIS’ season 14 spoilers: Robert Wagner to return
How about this as some sort of surprise? Even though Michael Weatherly may be gone from “NCIS,” that does not mean we are done seeing Tony DiNozzo’s father.
Per CBS, Robert Wagner is going to return for the upcoming November 1 episode “Home of the Brave” as Tony Sr. as a part of a story tied to McGee, Abby, and Bishop, who all do their part to try and woo him in hopes of subletting Tony’s famed apartment. Last season, the show did a rather-fun story that was effectively all about how a guy on his salary was able to afford such a place, and that’s still something that any other character would have to deal with, as well.
Does this appearance mean that Weatherly himself could return? At some point, we do think it is possible solely due to the fact that he did not seemingly leave on terrible terms with the cast or the crew. The only main issue that is apparent to us is that he is busy filming “Bull” on the other side of the country in New York, and it is fairly hard to think that he would have the time during the season to fly across the country, film this, and then go back to the show where he dominates in terms of airtime.
Ultimately, though, you never say never, and we consider this a very nice reminder that the show is at least keeping Tony Jr. around as a part of the discussion. It’s a nice contrast from what “Criminal Minds” seems to be doing in the near future when it comes to Hotch.
