See ‘Doctor Who,’ ‘Class’ spin-off panels from New York Comic-Con
If you’ve been excited to see the return of “Doctor Who” a little bit later this year, you’re not the only one — there were literally thousands of people at New York Comic-Con this past week who agreed with you, and that is the foundation for the videos below.
While there are definitely some networks out there who are not always so kind about releasing full panel videos online, you don’t have that sort of problem at all with the folks over at BBC America. Not only can you see the full-length panel for the flagship series below, but also for the upcoming spin-off “Class,” which will be debuting very soon across the pond in Great Britain. There is about an hour of solid entertainment in here, and by and large, we’d consider this a great deal of fun. Matt Lucas talking about Nardole proves to be rather delightful, as does getting the opportunity to see Pearl Mackie speak out about her Companion Bill — even though it may be a little bit of time before we see her on the air.
When it comes to “Class,” obviously the show is at a bit of a disadvantage primarily in that you don’t know the actors or their characters as of yet. However, at the same time we appreciate the energy and the enthusiasm they all have, and it is hardly as though the world is unfamiliar. The Coal Hill School has been around, as writer Patrick Ness notes, since the very beginning of the main series.
You will have a chance to see “Doctor Who” once more come Christmas Day, when the full special has an opportunity to air on the BBC both in America and the UK.
