‘This Is Us’ spoilers: Kevin’s acting journey

So far over the course of “This Is Us” season 1 (which, to be honest, is only two episodes), we have learned a little bit about some of the characters over the course of multiple timelines. This is a show about trying to figure things out, but the reality in this life is that you rarely get that opportunity. You’re always growing, evolving, and trying to make it to the next step.

For Kevin, a big part of that is going to be trying to figure out how to get a career in acting. He will be moving to New York, and while there he will try his hand at the stage. Per Entertainment Weekly, he’ll be auditioning for an off-Broadway play in the wake of what happened with The Manny, one that is led by Janet Montgomery playing a British actress at the head of the production. Here is what Justin Hartley had to say about this particular storyline:

“He’s got to figure out how to become an actor and he’s got to do it quickly … He’s with this woman who just is not nice, but she’s honest with him. She’s like look, ‘Here’s the truth: You’re going to fall on your face and it’s not going to be pretty. This is my life and you’re messing with it. It took me forever to get here and you got here because you’re The Manny.’”

Will he find some success? In all honesty, this is a crapshoot mostly because much of this business is. You have to be able to find the right audition, the right role, and the right people around you. The reality is that so many things have to go right in order to succeed in this business.
