‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13 spoilers: Camilla Luddington explains further fears around Alex
Season 13 of “Grey’s Anatomy” may only be a few episodes deep at present, but it still feels like we’ve got an avalanche of story, which certainly is never a bad thing. Of course, the same cannot be said from the vantage point of some of these characters, who probably are hoping to find some sort of peace in their lives. At this point, that’s not coming easy.
As a matter of fact, some are in a situation where one action towards them creates a domino effect, which in turn influences more down the road. This is precisely the position that Dr. Jo Wilson is in right now with Alex, a man she may love very much, but also a man she is afraid of in the wake of his attack on Andrew DeLuca. Camilla Luddington explained recently to Entertainment Weekly that a big part of that fear now stems from the secret about her past concerning her marriage. It is something that she deliberately chose to not reveal to him, thinking that doing so would lead to further conflict. Now, she may be doing so because she is concerned that he could do something awful to this husband of hers. Even if she went through something traumatic with this person and would want a certain degree of comeuppance, odds are Alex would only make it worse.
Meredith ultimately put it best to Alex recently: He needs to make a decision concerning whether or not he wants to be this new, evolved version of himself, or the person who was a jerk and a heel to people, otherwise known as the person she first knew him to be. This is a choice that could define the remainder of his story this season.
Oh, and of course there is also another key decision to watch out for in terms of how he continues to handle DeLuca at the hospital. While there may be relative peace now, the trial is still to come.
