‘Arrow’ season 5 spoilers: The battle rages against Tobias Church

How long is Tobias Church going to be sticking around on “Arrow“? That’s something we still don’t quite know, but we are fairly confident that however long he is around, he’s probably going to be both fearsome and pretty darn awesome. It’s pretty hard to think anything otherwise after seeing Chad L. Coleman in the premiere. He’s a commanding dude, and he has a little bit of psychopath within him that keeps his from being an everyday crime boss. He’s also so crazy as to not even bother with a mask, since he doesn’t bother if people know his name.

We know that Church will be sticking around for certain until we get to “Penance,” which is the upcoming episode of the show airing on October 26. The synopsis below offers some further details on what to expect:

“Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Lyla (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) team up on a secret mission for Diggle (David Ramsey). Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) finds out and disapproves of the plan and opts to stay behind. When Tobias Church (guest star Chad L. Coleman) launches a deadly assault against the city, Felicity must decide if she wants to send the recruits out sans the Green Arrow”

For those of you wondering when Diggle is going to get more involved with the story, this is certainly a welcome sign. We’ll just have to see where the remainder of the story picks up from here, but we have a hard time thinking he will be overseas forever.
