‘Scorpion’ season 3, episode 1 video: Walter O’Brien has terrible timing
The season premiere of “Scorpion” is coming on Monday as a two-hour affair (clearly CBS has a lot of faith in this show to give it such a huge block of time), and based on the sneak peek below, there’s going to be some bad news coming for Walter O’Brien: He may love Paige, but he made a pretty big mistake allowing her to go off to Lake Tahoe with Tim Armstrong at his own suggestion. Did he really think he was going to swoop in during her romantic getaway, tell her he loves and and she would jump into his arms with poor Tim standing there?
In the first of the sneak peeks below, Tim brings up the general awkwardness that comes with the two having their rooms switched, and how he feels like there was a part of her that may have wanted to stay back in Los Angeles. She claims that nothing is holding her back, and the two kiss … which of course happens right in front of Walter because television is a world where that sort of stuff tends to happen all the time. They don’t know Walter is there, so the good news is that he’s going to be able to make a clean break … right?
Well, not so much. Almost immediately after seeing this go down, Walter gets a call from Cabe, who makes it clear that there is a case of enormous magnitude that requires the entire team get back to Los Angeles. Unfortunately, this means for him getting on a plane with Paige and Tim, which understandably he doesn’t want to do given the whole crazy-stalker implications of it all. The problem he runs into here is that there’s no other choice. He’s going to have to come up with a pretty good excuse here!
What also makes this fun is that back in LA, Toby is clearly hung over in a bad way, and we’re going to see Cabe do what he can to tend to him in the midst of the botched marriage proposal to Happy. Suffice it to say, it feels like no one’s going to be at their best for whatever mission awaits them. Well maybe Sylvester, but he is usually the pillar of positivity.
