‘Supergirl’ season 2 spoilers: Official details surface on premiere

Superman -After a year over at CBS, “Supergirl” is coming to The CW on Monday, October 10 for its premiere episode, and it is one that is keeping things simple in regards to its title: “The Adventures of Supergirl.” What’s a little less simple is everything that the series is bringing to the table at present, and that includes the arrival of Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent / Superman and the first appearance of Mon-El (Chris Wood), who was aboard the pod that crashed to earth at the end of the season 1 finale.

Want some more insight on the premiere? Then take a look at the just-released synopsis:

“When a new threat emerges in National City, Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teams up with her cousin, Clark Kent/Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), to stop it. Kara is thrilled to have family in town but it leaves Alex (Chyler Leigh) feeling a bit left out. Meanwhile, Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl are stunned by the pod that came crashing to Earth.”

We have a feeling that Mon-El must be tied into the story moving forward in some sort of significant way, given that The CW has been extremely shy to date when it comes to releasing information on the season, other than the occasional villain casting or shorter promos. We still don’t necessarily know who the main villain of the season is, and that’s unusual since it has been made a little clearer for the other shows in the Greg Berlanti superhero universe.
