‘America’s Got Talent’ finale results: Did Grace VanderWaal or The Clairvoyants win season 11? (Live updates)
Tonight, “America’s Got Talent” is ending season 11, and of course we’re looking forward to seeing precisely how the results all unfold tonight! While we know that there are going to be some performances scattered throughout the course of this show, we know that our primary focus in this article is on one subject more so than any other: Who ultimately was the winner? We’re narrowing down the results live as the show goes on.
For the record, we do still hold firm to our feeling that Grace VanderWaal will be the winner, just based on where she performed in the show and also the overall course of the season to date.
One thing we do gotta say is that we were hoping the show would give us some actual results in the first hour — which didn’t happen. Instead, we got a ton of filler, more than we possibly know what to do with. The thing is that we love this show, but the finale’s always feel far longer than they really need to and an excuse to just get big ratings. We wonder if they would ever consider adding a live-voting component, where a certain percentage of the vote could be calculated on the spot.
The Top Five – Finally, we have the final five! Sal Valentinetti, The Clairvoyants, Brian Justin Crum, Jon Dorenbos, and Grace VanderWaal are the finalists. No real shock there, given that magicians and singers have been the most dominant performers for the majority of the season.
The Top Two – Sal was fifth, Brian fourth, and Jon was third. In the end, The Clairvoyants and Grace are at the top of the list.
Winner – Grace VanderWaal. We’re not going to object to this ending, given her incredible talent and her being the first female winner of the show since season 1. Was it obvious? Sure, but that’s okay when you have someone who could go on to do big things.

She was the 10th best act and I think she was even lower than that there were other acts that were taken out before her that should’ve been ahead of her

I have a feeling that she will not handle Vegas well. They want top of the line, and she really isn’t top of the line.

The reality is that nobody will be doing the “headlining” show for long — it’s just a few dates. She’ll get a chance to go on and work on a recording career. Clairvoyans are tailor-made for Vegas now. The grand prize for this show ultimately is more useful to Vegas-style acts.
