‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ spotlight: Meet Ciandre ‘CeCe’ Taylor

Ciandre -

If there is a person who identifies with the theme of her tribe on “Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X” more so than any other this season, it’s probably Ciandre “CeCe” Taylor. This is a woman who has been working ever since she was a teenager, and someone who learned precisely what it meant to have little money growing up. She’s a hard worker, and someone who continues to push herself to be the best she can be.

Will this work ethic translate to being a good player this season? Well, that’s what we’ve got to try and figure out in this spotlight!

Tribe – Takali (Gen X Tribe).

Bio – She’s a 39-year old insurance adjuster currently living in Granada Hills, California, which is a suburban community within the Valley portion of Los Angeles. She’s a mother, and as a result of that she’ll stop at nothing to give her children a better life.

Positive attributes – She’s seemingly a big fan of the show, and we get the sense that she understands strategy and what it means to have an alliance. We also think that she’s athletic enough that she’ll at least hold her own in the challenges. While there’s nothing that pops from her bio or her video as “oh, this is what she’ll dominate the game at,” that may be a good thing. She can adapt to whatever situation is around her.

Potential negatives – In some ways, her story makes her a threat. She’s the sort of person who has overcome so much in her life that she may be targeted for it, since nobody wants to go to the end with someone who they think will completely clobber them. That could be a concern here. Also, we do wonder if her enthusiasm to play the game could make her a little bit of an obvious target in the early going.

“Survivor” comparisons – She cites both Spencer Bledsoe and Tasha Fox, who are both good players but we don’t really see her as either one of them. We’d go back to either Cassandra in “Survivor: Fiji” or maybe Julie from “Survivor: Redemption Island” as players with some game savvy who still knew how to be fairly under the radar and could contribute on a physical level without being notable standouts.

Early assessment – CeCe’s got what it takes to be a good player; the one thing we’re still on the fence about is if she’s going to put so much pressure on herself to go out there and do well that she’ll find herself in some trouble. With her story it’s hard to imagine her making it to the end, but she could be someone who becomes a key cog of an alliance and is a jury player.
